So, life has been happening at the speed of life. I am now living in Philadelphia’s greater area (I really am outside of the city proper, so also learning how to be a suburbanite), and I am an office denizen on a daily basis. But I’ll get back to my Philly experiences thus far.
I’m also still trying to sell my house in Pittsburgh, which has required a few trips back to the Burgh to get things at the house prepped, fixed, reworked, etc. It just isn’t getting any attention in the listings, so no one is even looking at it. It’s a shame, it’s a nice place with a lot of convenience, quiet (for where it is), a nice yard, and that jacuzzi tub. I miss it myself.
So for the past couple of months, I’ve really gotten to know the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
But back to Philly — I’ve been enjoying my time here thus far. Every time I join a new group, they have been very welcoming. So I’ve already found local groups for Ingress, board games, and AWS. It’s been nice to feel like I fit in so well at the start, and have things to do right out of the gate.
I’ve also had a lot more commuting time, at least 35 minutes (and up to over an hour) each way. So I’ve been listening to a lot of podcast. Oddly, listening to podcasts have gotten my brain in more of a mood to write, and I have a few starts to some stories (and one first draft done) that I’d been percolating in my brain for years. Now if only I’ll put that creative motivation into the Frankenstein work I need to get done!
I haven’t been singing as much, and I knew that would take a back seat for a while. I am still involved with the Pittsburgh Savoyards as a board member, and do go back to help them when I can. Ruddigore is this fall, and it will be magnificent!
As for the Nintendo Switch game posts, those will return when I’ve finally gotten around to hooking it up. I’m s l o w l y working on the room I’m staying in to make it work for my needs, and the only thing I have hooked up so far is the AppleTV.
I have been getting back to the gym though! It’s fantastic to get that routine back in place. I am feeling stronger every week for it.
And that’s the general update on my life. Mostly it is going well, with a few hiccups here and there.
